Turn clearly bordered text tables in a PDF into editable Excel cells, with each source page kept separate.
No file selected
One PDF · up to 10 MB and 12 source pages · text layer required
Choose a text-based PDF with clearly bordered tables.
Check the cells before downloading
On a narrow screen, scroll the table preview sideways to check every column.
Manual table review
No reliable bordered grid was found. For a simple text table, select its area and enter column guides. Click or tap two opposite corners on the page, or use the coordinate fields. No file can be downloaded until you build and confirm the preview.
Enter one guide between each pair of columns. Manual rows follow text baselines; wrapped cells and merged cells are not inferred in this mode.
Every displayed value is written as text, including amounts, percentages and dates. No numeric conversion or formula recovery is performed.

Cells, values and worksheets
Displayed values stay text
An identifier such as 00123 stays 00123. Negative amounts, percentages, currency signs and dates keep their displayed strings. This version does not normalize numbers or guess date formats. Because the cells are text, convert selected values to numbers in your spreadsheet app before using them in calculations.
Formulas are not recovered
Original spreadsheet formulas cannot be recovered from displayed PDF results. This tool exports the text that is present; it does not invent formulas.
Separate worksheets
Each source page and each detected table gets a separate worksheet in the XLSX. Pages are not automatically joined, and repeated headers remain on their source pages.
Borderless tables need review
For a borderless text table, automatic export stops. The manual review helper lets you choose an area and column guides, then check the resulting cells. It does not automatically infer merged or wrapped cells.
Support and limits
Automatic extraction is limited to PDFs with a readable text layer and clear table borders. It reconstructs rows, columns, rectangular merged cells and line breaks within cells. Inline bold and italic are retained when those styles are available in the PDF fonts.
Scans without a readable text layer stop conversion. This version does not use text recognition to rescue a scan, including a clear one.
Skewed or blurred scans, rotated text, complex nested tables and ambiguous nonrectangular cells are outside this version's scope.
Images, charts, exact page typography and original formulas are not exported.
Input is limited to one PDF, 10 MB and 12 pages. A table is limited to 300 rows, 40 columns and 6,000 grid positions; a file is limited to 12,000 grid positions.
Passwords, unsupported text characters or a failed page stop the export. No partial workbook is offered.
Test files and results
Tested on:
These English test files show the supported grid and string-preservation workflow. Compare the source PDF with the actual downloaded workbook and the recorded cell checks.
On 2026-10-20, the bordered sample matched all 20 grid positions; the merged sample matched all 20 positions and three merged ranges. A separate 15-position sample retained leading zeros, a negative amount, a percentage, a date string, a literal formula-like string and inline bold/italic runs. The downloaded workbooks were independently checked and rendered with a desktop spreadsheet app.
The site owner subsequently reported successful workbook opening in Excel for the web and desktop Excel, and successful preview and XLSX download on a physical phone. These owner-reported checks do not establish compatibility with every file or device.
These are checks of specific files, not a guarantee for a different PDF. Review names, amounts, dates, blank cells and every merge in your own output.
Local processing and privacy
The selected PDF is read and the workbook is created in your browser. The document and extracted cells are not uploaded to a conversion server. Conversion components load from this site when needed. Page delivery and analytics use separate requests; document contents and conversion results are not included in analytics events.

Frequently asked questions
Why is Download XLSX unavailable?
Every source page needs a table preview before export. Resolve any page that needs manual area and column guides, check every page preview, then select the confirmation box. A failed page stops the export; no partial workbook is offered.
