How to add pages to a PDF

  1. Choose the base PDF

Select the document you want to extend. Wait for its file check; your original is not overwritten.

  2. Set the insertion

Choose another PDF and the positions to copy, or choose blank pages. Set the insertion point and read the plan.

  3. Review and download

Add the pages, preview the updated document and download it. Open the PDF to check the insertion before sharing.

Put new pages in the right place

Before, between or after

The position menu refers to the base PDF before any insertion. Add a cover before its first page, a receipt between two pages, or an appendix after the last page. Base pages keep their order.

Copy only the needed pages

Enter physical positions from the second PDF. For example, 3, 1-2, 2 copies positions 1, 2 and 3 once in source order. This tool inserts one selected group, not an arbitrary rearrangement of the document.

Add space for notes

Add 1–20 blank pages with Letter, A4, or the preceding page's visible size. At the beginning, size matching uses the first base page. A blank page adds space; it does not create a fillable form.

Support and limits

Original page content

Existing pages are copied into a new PDF rather than rendered as screenshots. Scans stay images without OCR. Mixed page sizes, crops and rotation are kept on copied pages; review the result. External HTTP, HTTPS and email links are allowed.

Document features that stop insertion

Encrypted or damaged documents, forms, signatures, certification restrictions, comments, non-link annotations, internal navigation, layers, portfolios, attachments and document actions are rejected. Checks cover both whole PDFs, including pages you do not insert. Bookmarks, page labels, document metadata and accessibility tags are not rebuilt.

Resource limits

Up to two PDFs with 50 MiB combined input and 20,000 combined PDF objects; each input and the final PDF can have up to 200 pages. Output is limited to 100 MiB. Checking and insertion each use a 60-second timer, including initial preview. Background throttling can delay timers; device memory may impose a lower practical limit.

A focused insertion, not an editor

One insertion group is added per run. Download and use that result as a new base for another group. Image files and document editing are not accepted here. This is not a redaction, signature-preservation or PDF/A/PDF/UA compliance workflow. Keep your original.

Test files and results

Use these original English fixtures and actual output files to check the insertion positions. Each result applies to its exact inputs and settings.

Inputs and insertionActual PDF downloadObserved result
Two-page report + Rotated/cropped appendix · insert position 1 after base position 1Appendix in the middleThree pages: report page 1, the rotated/cropped appendix, then report page 2. Copied text, page content, boxes, rotation, images and external links matched the corresponding source pages; rendered pixels matched at 90 dpi.
Same base + Image-only receipt · insert before the first pageReceipt before the reportThree pages: the image-only receipt, then both report pages. The receipt stayed image-only. Each copied page passed the same content and 90 dpi pixel comparison.
Same base as both inputs · insertion selection 2, 1-2 · after the last pageSelected pages at the endFour pages: both original report pages followed by positions 1 and 2 from the second copy. The reversed overlapping selection was normalized; each inserted position appeared once. All copied-page checks matched.
Same base · two blank Letter pages · after original position 1Blank pages between report pagesFour pages: report page 1, two empty Letter pages, report page 2. Blank pages had no text, images or annotations and rendered white; both report pages matched the source.

What we checked

On October 29, 2026, we downloaded these four PDFs and viewed all fourteen result pages. Independent checks compared each copied page's text, content, size, crop, rotation, images, external links and rendered pixels at 90 dpi with its source. Blank pages were checked separately. An additional 390-pixel browser-width selection, keyboard conversion, preview and download produced the same page content as the middle-insertion case. This was not a physical-phone test.

What the checks do not establish

These fixed files do not establish every document's compatibility or every device's memory and speed. A 390-pixel browser-width check is not a physical-phone test. Rejected inputs produce no completed download.

Local processing and privacy

Files stay in your browser

The input files, their names, your insertion choices and the output PDF are handled in browser memory, without uploading to a conversion server. Clear files or close the page to release working state. Saved downloads remain on your device.

Website requests are separate

Code and rendering assets load from this site. Website delivery and analytics are separate requests described in the privacy policy; file names, document contents, page selections and results are not sent as analytics events.

Frequently asked questions

Do I enter printed page numbers or PDF positions?

Use physical positions counted from the beginning. Printed labels can differ. Review the base and insertion PDF previews to check the pages you are choosing.

Will adding a page change the original PDF?

No. The download is a new file with -with-added-pages added to its name. Your original file stays on your device.

Can I add pages from the same file twice?

You can choose the same PDF as the base and insertion source. Each selected insertion position is copied once. Overlapping ranges in the insertion selection do not duplicate a page.

Why was a PDF refused even though I only needed one page?

The whole document must pass the feature and resource checks. An unselected page or document-level structure can contain an unsupported feature.

Why did my previous download disappear?

Changing inputs or insertion settings invalidates the old result. Run Add pages again to get a PDF matching the current plan.
